Our story of our dog and her treatment of the aggressive canine cancer, hemangiosarcoma

Day 7, Post-Spleen Rupture/Splenectomy

Forcing a dog who’s already enduring a trauma to wear an “Elizabethan Collar,” aka the infamous “Cone of Shame,” seems like adding insult to injury.

Literally.

So, Craig went to work searching the internet for an alternative and found one: It’s called a “Recovery Suit” — basically a onsie for dogs. We bought her one in a fancy lavender leopard print (found it on Amazon for just $35; shipped overnight — and there are more to choose from if you’re not into animals in animal print: link here). #CatTestedCatApproved

Word of warning: Remember not to mindlessly let your doggie outside to go potty & forget to take it off prior. Not that I would ever do such a thing (except that I did 😩). Sorry Cattie!!!

Another benefit to the suit: Grisly but true — her body was covered in dried blood after she returned home, and we were instructed not to bathe her for 10 days, so everywhere she would lie before we got the suit would end up with a brownish-red stain. Her cute little jumper mitigated this, as well.

Cat’s cat-suit (<<see what I did there 😹) comes in other colors and sizes — and there are tons of others to choose from, as well; check them out here.
